ISRO GSLV-mk3, the space shuttle set to launch on July 14, 2023, for mission Chandrayaan-3.
The launch vehicle for Chandrayaan-3, the GSLV-Mk3, which will place the integrated module in an Elliptic Parking Orbit (EPO) of size ~170 x 36500 km.

ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 all set to be launched on 14th July, to the south pole of the moon.

Chandrayaan-3 is the follow up effort for its earlier failed mission, the Chandrayaan-2. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has set its path ready to launch Chandrayaan-3 with similar targets as to Chandrayaan-2, as ISRO is looking forward to do a soft landing of the spaceship's lander on the moon's south pole.

So far, U.S, Russia and China were the only other countries to have been able to do soft landing on the moon and India is keen to join this space explorer's club. While no other country has been able to land at the moon's south pole, India's premier Space Research Organisation, ISRO has set this very ambitious target on this mission. At an approximate expense of INR. 600 crore, the Chandrayaan-3 mission is eager to achieve its objectives. When successful, it will elevate India to become one of the very few space hubs in the world to achieve such capabilities.

The space shuttle, LVM3 (GSLV-mk3) will be launched into its path to the preset trajectory towards moon from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota, India, where it will deploy its payload, the 'Chandrayaan-3', package. The deployed payload consists of,

  1. Propulsion module
  2. Lander module
  3. Rover onboard
