Human bones were found in the alleged burial sites in the temple town of Dharmasthala. According to the whistleblower's site information, around 13-14 places were identified and demarked as the alleged crime-site burials. On day one (29th July 2025) and two (30th July 2025) of exhumation, digging of the sites produced no hint of human remains; however, a few articles, such as a PAN card, ATM card, etc., were discovered.

On the 3rd day, the 31st of July of 2025, the exhumation process in site no. 6 revealed fragments of bones that were suspected of being human remains. The same were carefully bagged by the forensic experts for further examination & tests at the Forensic Science Lab (FSL).

The temple town municipal vice-president had already given info about how they handled unidentified dead bodies (recorded under Unnatural Death Report, UDR) that were found by people in & around the region. He had stated that before 2006 (as the temple town had not institutionalized any formal burial site), they were mostly recorded by the police and inspected by any doctors/forensic/autopsy/post-mortem available experts at that time on site.

He also said that they were buried at the site, as they would mostly be found after the body had decomposed to a greater degree. So this is another challenge to the investigation team to establish whether it had happened before 2006 or at a later time period.
