Putin Jabs Sweden over Quran Burning on Eid

Russian president Vladimir Putin takes a veiled dig at NATO aspirant Sweden after an extremist stomped, tore and burnt a Quran ahead of Eid al-Adha in front of a Stockholm Mosque. While visiting the country's southern city of Derbent, Putin claimed that such acts are considered crime in Russia and will not allow disrespect of any religion. His reaction came as the Muslim nations fumed and warned Sweden.

Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia & Islamic countries are furious on this event that took place in the presence of the police force, outside a mosque in Sweden. When a resident of Sweden, Salwan Momika, a former refugee from Iraq tore a few pages of the Islamic holy book Quran before setting it on fire. The event took place on 28th on the eve of the Islamic holiday.

It is said that police had given the man a permission to protest, however the tearing up & setting it alight probably wasn't disclosed by the protester. He was soon arrested & an criminal investigation is said to have been initiated on the incident.
