In a move to develop the region around rural Mandya, where the land is more arid, Sri M.B. Patil, State Minister of Large & Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka, approaches his counterpart in the Central Government, Sri H.D. Kumaraswamy, Minister of Large Industries, GOI. His offer was in line with the GOI's lookout for a new ARAI center in the southern region, offering 5% more land than the original need.
Here is the transcript of his offer in social-media on this.
Karnataka is ready to offer land in Mandya for India’s first dedicated ARAI Centre
I have written to the Union Minister for Heavy Industries, Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy ravaru, expressing Karnataka’s full readiness to establish the country’s first-ever dedicated construction equipment and infrastructure testing facility (ARAI Centre), and requesting him to kindly take this forward in the larger interest of the State and the nation.
- Location: Basaralu Hobli, Mandya district - just 500 metres from the Mandya–Nagamangala State Highway
- Land: While the Centre has requested 100 acres, the State Government is ready to allocate 105 acres
- Investment: ₹500 crore state-of-the-art facility for testing, validation, and certification
- India’s first exclusive centre for construction and infrastructure equipment testing
I have also invited the Central team and ARAI representatives for an early joint site inspection.
The Government of Karnataka is committed to building world-class infrastructure and boosting manufacturing capacity.
This initiative has the potential to be a transformative milestone for Mandya district and the surrounding region, and for India’s construction sector.
