In a first in Bengaluru, Zomato sets up new Zomato resting point at Bengaluru’s Vega City mall. Inaugurated on Sunday by Tejasvi Surya, Bengaluru South MP, is said to be southern India’s first resting point.

Surya, on Twitter wrote, “Set up South India's 1st Resting Point for Delivery Partners at Vega City Mall in association with @zomato and @vegacitysocial. With essential amenities such as first-aid, drinking water, & clean restrooms, the point will serve as a place for all delivery partners to rest, rejuvenate, and recharge.”

Early this year in February, Zomato's CEO Depinder Goyal had written, “Announcing 'The Shelter Project' – we've started building public infrastructure (Rest Points) to support the well-being of delivery partners of various companies.” The rest points are equipped with facilities such as High-speed internet, first aid, phone charging facility, washrooms and drinking water are some of the amenities that come with the rest points.

Adding on, they even said that these facilities which are open to delivery agents, can be accessed by agents from other companies too.

Calling delivery partners as their ‘heart and soul’ of the business Zomato revealed its plans to set up more such shelter places in the ‘most dense clusters’ of its food delivery service areas. Already a few rest points were operating at Gurgaon, in the city of Zomato’s headquarters.

With such basic amenities provided for the hard-toil workers of the front-line who face a lot of fatigue and health issues due to the nature of the job, the company shows the care for the well being of their business bloodline staff.
