In a sad turn of events unfolding during the search operations by the US Coast Guard's ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle), which is an unmanned submarine robotic vehicle that found debris of the ill-fated missing submersible 'Titan' of the privately owned company OceanGate. With its CEO and 4 other passengers onboard, the sub had lost communication & contact with the mothership above.

The US Coastguard on twitter confirmed to have found the likely debris, about 1600ft from the bow of the sunken ship RMS Titanic.

Confirmed by the staff of OceanGate, the operations crew identified the cone of the sub that had imploded somewhere around the depths of the ocean floor near to the wreck site of the 1912 sunken ship, Titanic.

OceanGate is a privately operated undersea tour and exploration company which was co-founded by its CEO, Stockton Rush, who was onboard the vessel.

Two other passengers were the prominent Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman in this (mis)adventurous expedition. The teenager Suleman was initially terrified on this expedition, however agreed to join his father on the account of father's day to bond with him better.

“Our deepest condolences to the Dawood family and the family of other passengers on the sad news about the fate of Titanic submersible in the North Atlantic. We appreciate the multinational efforts over the last several days in search of the vessel,” the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan's statement read.

The Dawoods are a prominent Pakistani business family. Dawood Hercules Corporation, their business, is among the largest corporations in the country, with a portfolio spanning energy, petrochemicals, fertilizers, IT, food and agriculture.

Fourth passenger was an adventurer of British origin, a billionaire-explorer Hamish Harding. Founder of Action Aviation, a resident of U.A.E Harding made headlines in 2019 for being part of a flight crew that broke the world record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe via both poles, to which he had entered in the Guinness World Record. In 2020, he became one of the first people to dive to Challenger Deep in the Pacific Ocean, widely believed to be the deepest point in the world's oceans. Last year, he paid an undisclosed sum of money for one of the seats on Blue Origin's space flight.

Fifth passenger was none other than the experienced French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet, with decades of experience exploring the Titanic. Nargeolet serves as the director of underwater research at RMS Titanic Inc., the company that has exclusive rights to salvage artifacts from the ship. According to his biography on the company's website, Nargeolet completed 35 dives to the wreck and supervised the recovery of 5,500+ artifacts. He spent 22 years in the French Navy, where he rose to the rank of commander, the website says.
