Another railway incident in West Bengal, two goods(freight) trains collided near Onda station in derailing 12 carriages. With the latest incident, in the region has raised serious questions about the safety procedures & protocols in operations by Indian Railways.
Indian Railways has issued notice that
12 were derailed and no deaths reported.
Update @14:44, June 25, 2023 (IST):
"Railway maintenance train (BRN) shunting was going on at Onda station when a goods train (BCN) overshot the red signal & collided with the maintenance train around 4am today. Around 8 wagons derailed, restoration work under way #trainaccident #trainderailment #Bankura #WestBengal"
In another separate incident, it was reported that about 158 keys that hold rails secured to the sleepers were being dislodged by unknown people. On subject to primary verification, act of criminal intent is very much suspected and seems prevailing all along the length and breadth of the country.

Railway Police have registered a criminal procedure and investigation is said to be under progress.
