A possible dangerous incident was averted in Thoudugoli village, in Mangaluru, Karnataka, India. A burqa clad woman narrowly escaped from an almost collision with a speeding bus. The alert driver who was driving through the populated section of the road, steers away & applies brakes bringing the bus to a complete halt. The woman narrowly escaped near deadly consequences, with only minor bruises on her hand.
The footage was circulated on social media, as it can be seen the woman failed to see a bus coming on the road, despite repeated honking by the driver, she attempts to cross the road without looking on either directions for possible traffic.
The driver's alertness & quick response although averted a severe incident, which otherwise could have had deadly consequences. However the speed carried by the bus through the section of the road seemed to be high and unsafe. An FIR was registered by police, for reckless driving & over-speeding.
"FIR has also been registered against the driver for Rash & Dangerous driving," Karnataka’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Alok Kumar said in a tweet.
TIP: It is important to look on either directions of the road for fast approaching traffic to avoid such incidents, that can be even fatal. Also avoid wearing of clothes/eyewear near eyes that could impair peripheral vision that can lessen your situational awareness, which definitely was in this case.
After watching the incident captured on CCTV, by some locals witnessed the woman on how she did, while complimenting the bus driver for his presence of mind & quick reaction.
