The Kakhovka dam was attacked on Tuesday, as a result it was breached and started to flooding in the Kherson region of Ukraine. Ukraine blamed Russia for the attack, while Russia said it was an act of sabotage.
The dam was used to provide water to Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is under Russian control. The low lying areas of Dnipro river basin is submerged with upto 30 feet of water after the breach occurred. Thousands were evacuated, as the flood water started to submerged their homes and buildings. The dam was estimated to have held nearly 18 million cubic meters of water.
