Sensational Shubman Gill hit a magnificent 104*(52) to power Gujarat Titans to a thrilling victory and knocking Royal Challengers out of the tournament in this match (70 of 74) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 101 off 61 balls, however his contribution didn't hamper the GT to a clear victory. Rawat too remained not out on 23 off 15, teaming Kohli. RCB introduced Himanshu Sharma as their Impact Player in place of Dinesh Karthik at the end of the first innings.

A Match worthy of being the last league stage game of the season! RCB got off to a good start courtesy of Kohli and FaF but none of the other middle-order batters got going while Kohli was going well at one end. The master carried his bat through the innings finishing unbeaten on 101 from 61 deliveries. Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers conceding at just 6 r.p.o and also accounting for a big wicket of Glenn Maxwell. A target of 198 was never going to be easy but Gill and Saha came out with a positive intent. Vijay Shankar who came in at number three compiled a 123-run stand from just 71 deliveries putting GT in the driver's seat. Shubman Gill smashing 8 maximums and 5 fours got to his second Century of the season and stunned everyone once again with his exemplary shot-making. The total was chased down with 5 balls to spare. RCB crashes out and MI qualifies for the playoffs.

" Very disappointed not finishing on a good note. We played a strong team tonight and an amazing century from Shubman. It was really wet in the second innings. It was wet in the first innings as well, but there wasn't a lot of grip in the second innings and also we had to change the ball quite a few times during the second innings. Virat Kohli played an unbelievable knock to give us a chance and thought that was a good score, but Shubman Gill played incredibly well to take the game away from us. From Our batting perspective, the top 4 contributed really well but we missed a few runs from the middle order consistently throughout the season, especially in the back end of the innings. Our bowlers in the middle overs perhaps didn't get as many wickets as we would have liked. "

Faf Du Plessis, Skipper

" The calmness the boys had was phenomenal. The way boys played ticked all the boxes. Shubman knows when he plays that kind of shot he gives no chance to the bowlers. He picked his spot and made it look easy. We would have taken 197 at the start, but we didn't bowl that well. Special innings from Virat Kohli. I can't ask anything better from the boys. Last year, everything went well for us. We were expecting people to challenge us. The boys showed tremendous character. "

Hardik Pandya, Skipper

"  I am in good form, it's about getting a start and converting it into a big score. I am happy that It is all working out for me at the business end of the tournament. You need to keep playing shots in T20 cricket. The new ball was holding a bit, it got easier to bat on. It was difficult for their spinners to bowl. Vijay Shankar was going too hard, I told him to hold his shape. Once he found the momentum, he can hit long as well. It's going to be an exciting qualifier contest playing against Chennai in Chennai. We have a great bowling attack and hopefully, we'll make it to the final for the second time in a row. "
