MOLLY
TAYLOR AFTER THE HOME OUTING IN THE AUSTRALIAN SCOUTS RALLY SA, RETURNS
TO EUROPE TO COMPETE IN THE GEKO YPRES RALLY (BELGIUM) - SIXTH ROUND OF THE 2013 EUROPEAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP
Molly Taylor, codriven as usual by Seb Marshall, returns to Europe after a positive experience in Australia at the Scouts Rally SA, third round of the Australian Rally Championship. The lady driver will tackle the challenging special stages of the GEKO Ypres Rally at the wheel of the Citroen DS3 R3 in the unmistakable United Business livery. The Australian driver continues as planned in the 2013 European Rally Championship, where she made her debut in the 2012 edition of the Belgian event: it was a steep learning curve, in the first three stages she encountered some difficulty in finding the right feeling with the Citroen DS3 R3, then the race ended in a positive crescendo.
"Last
year here in Ypres I had a difficult start, and I can not deny that
what happened then in the first stages was a useful experience, now I
face this event which is a "must" of international rallying aware of my
means, the team was fantastic both in Azores
and in Corsica, all the staff developed by the company in charge of my
sports management, United Business, works in perfect harmony and with
great professionalism - says Molly Taylor -
rally after rally I gather more and more experience. At last, I do not
tackle a rally for the first time, this will be a small advantage, Seb
and I are confident, even on Belgian soil the goal will be to reach the
end of the rally with the best result possible to consolidate and if
possible improve the ranking in the 2-Wheel drive class and in the Ladies’ Trophy.
The retirement in Azores did not help, but second place at the Tour de
Corse was a great result for both the ranking and the spirits. In Ypres
we will also take part in the Citroen Racing Trophy in Europe,
this will be a further challenge and a further goal to reach. To
experience the magical atmosphere of the service area of Ypres is always
beautiful, this rally where all the teams are based around the
cathedral is something unique, for the second time I'll be at the start,
this makes me very happy".
The programme of the Belgian race, sixth round of the European Rally Championship, sees the start on Friday, June 28th at 16:25 and after 459 km in total, 263 of which of special stages, the finish will be on Saturday, June 29th at 22:20
, with the podium located in the evocative setting of the Grote Mark
square, which will be as usual crowded with spectators and rally fans.
