Ultraviolette, the Bengaluru-based new-age startup automotive technology company, launches a new bike in its lineup of offerings targeting the dual-sport or adventure category motorcycle under the name X47.
Terming it as X, denoting it as the crossover, the X47 comes with an onboard charger thereby taking off the extra luggage that was being hauled by tourers to charge up the bike in the F77 motorbike.
The bike has a performance figures of 2.7s 0-60kph, 8.1x for 0-100kph and a top speed of 145kph. The range is claimed at 323kms, Power of 40 HP (30kW), Torque at 610Nm, and a warranty of 8,00,000kms, with the onboard battery size of 10kWh.
The price starts at INR.2,74,000/-, with an introductory price of INR.2,49,000/- for the initial 1000 deliveries. Remember, the tax on electric vehicles is just 5% not 18% or 40%.
The Pluses & Minuses
+ Charging available on all CCS charging stations across various networks.
- Suspension is probably taken from the F77, so do not expect great suspension travel.
+ Most parts are shared with F77, so parts availability & serviceability will be better.
- The ground clearance will be an issue as the battery hangs very low to the ground, especially when riding, as the weight of the rider(s) will drop the bike lower.
+ Upright riding position will be ideal for a relaxed & longer saddle time. Ergonomically better.
- Smaller wheels & overall frame, so it will look tiny for taller riders and also underpowered.
+ The onboard battery charger is a boon, as it will reduce the extra hauled luggage.
- It could've been a bigger bike frame compared to the F77, as it had all the necessary proven & built technology at its disposal.
+ Radars used to detect traffic in low visibility & in blind spots for added rider safety.
