Yamuna river flooding in Delhi has marginally come down, although it is still 3 meter above normal, currently at 208.6 meters. Relief camps are flooded with affected taking shelter, as their homes are submerged in the heavy downpour that is rampant in the upper basin of the river since a week.
It is said to be the largest flooding in the national capital since 45 years, and the low-lying areas along the banks of Yamuna river is the worst affected. The huge inflow from upper basins of Yamuna, particularly from Haryana which experienced a heavy downpour than normal, which has resulted in the flooding at Delhi.
More than 16,000 people are reportedly been displaced due to this recent flooding.
