Police called by Dealer as Customer Complains of Vehicle Rusting

Owning a car is quite often an emotional decision for many of us, especially when that car is an expensive model. Here an owner of a brand new SUV, a Tata Safari from Faridabad has raised issues regarding rusting on his car with the Tata Motors authorised dealer, Autovikas Moti Nagar, New Delhi. His complaint is regarding the quality of the metal body & its surface treatment that has been applied on his Safari SUV.

The owner mentioned that within four months of ownership, he began noticing of corrosion in as many as 45 different places on the surface of the SUV. Owner said he paid Rs 21 lakhs for the Tata Safari SUV but had never imagined this to happen for such an expensive vehicle. Not surprisingly, he placed a demand on the entire vehicle instead of repairs on a brand new vehicle with the Tata Motors dealer. His claims that this is something which should not have happened.

Rocky, the customer when contacted about the same with Autovikas, the Tata Motors dealer who rejected any possibility of replacement. Spokesperson Shiv Kumar from Autovikas has divulged that Tata Motors is aware of this situation. The dealer presses against the claim citing the reason for rusting could be Faridabad’s hard water with unfavourable TDS level. The dealer is ready to repaint the rusted parts, which is not acceptable to Rocky and demands a full vehicle replacement.

Faridabad News say that they were present on scene before Police arrived and adds that the dealer called the cops even without any tense in the situation that could have been created by the owner and his associates. With the problem being unresolved, Tata Safari owner is planning on taking the issue to consumer court.
