Indian Government has announced a ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) days after multiple investigation raids by the probe agencies at their offices across the country. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday, the PFI and its associate organisations, including the Rehab India Foundation and Campus Front of India, are banned for five years under The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Soon after the central government's ban on PFI, Tamil Nadu Government also issues an official ban on the outfit. However, the sentiments amongst the Muslim community disagrees the decision calling it 'politically motivated' and would accept it, if only proven the charges as guilty.
