Route of the penultimate day!

Penultimate - Day 13 [Stage 12], at Dakar 2015.

Kamaz splashing through the stream..
It was a day of flat-out for a few, and keep it clean for the top order boys, and girls! The long liaison on either ends of the special stage meant, it was a marathon route on its own, and the stage passed through through some water splash, tree lined narrow roads, and some flat out section to finish the race at Rosario.

First it was Bikes, then Quads, Cars & finally Trucks passed through the same route and it was a quickie for each of the category and it meant some furious head-to-tail riding & driving. More on the details in the below sections, in the order of start.

Bikes

Toby Price kicking up the dirt!
Australian Toby Price put his best of performance today and won the special with a gap of 1m55s ahead of the chasing Barreda Bort. Joan's team-mate Paulo Goncalves, finished third fastest, yet conservative of this bike, which now has a new engine. He was awarded 15 minute time penalty for the engine change has now eased off the rally leader Marc Coma and he finished 6th quickest, still keeping an healthy lead for the final stage tomorrow.

CS Santosh up the slippery roads..
Indian, KTM rider, Santosh CS finished up by 3 positions to his start at 34 and now is 35th overall. His performance was appraised by Xavier, the Dakar competitor relations officer, for his splendid performance despite his injuries and expressed his best for the sportsman spirit.

Not only that, yesterday he had lent his stocked tire to the rally leader Marc Coma, who had worn out all of his to keep up the top spot. Again the team boss appreciated his generousness and sportsman spirit.

NEXT: Last Day 14, Stage 13 - The Finale!

Final day's route
None of the drivers in the Dakar consider it over until they reach the end of this final day; and for good reason, because every year at least one competitor retires during this final stage.

Final day's stage elevation profile
Caution is the name of the game on the fast tracks of the special stage, at the very least for those who haven't got a position to defend. Because reaching the podium of the 2015 edition at the Tecnópolis in Buenos Aires is the ultimate goal which they have come to achieve.

Just one more day of action to crown the leaders to winners! Just one day! And it will be over just like that.. It is so overwhelming isn't it? That is the spirit of dakar, a fortnight's of action where the world will be compressed within; and will have to wait for another 50 weeks for yet another year's edition.
